Out On A Limb
Pastor Tim takes his lesson from Luke 19:1-10 Every one of us can probably identify with Zacchaeus, if for no other reason than he liked to climb up in a tree! But, Zacchaeus did it for a “higher purpose” – he wanted to see Jesus. Zacchaeus was well-known, rich, hated, and he was a sinner … and he knew it. He went “out on a limb” not just because he was curious, but because he was under conviction and realized that he was a sinner. Identity matters! Even Jesus called out to Zacchaeus by name! More than anything else in the world, he wanted to know and experience Jesus and the salvation that was available only thru Him. Salvation changes your life – internally, externally, eternally. However, it costs us nothing. Why? Because Jesus Christ paid for our sins on Calvary … on the Cross … on THAT tree! Every sin can be forgiven … except the sin of unbelief. A sinner must come to Jesus on His terms, not our own. There is a “transformation” in salvation. Both the Old Testament and the New Testament declare that Jesus came to save mankind from eternal destruction, but WE MUST SEEK HIM, FOR HE IS SEEKING US. Brother Tim stated that, “Jesus is either Lord of it all, or He is not Lord at all!” You must “go out on a limb” - surrender your “all” to Him.
