190725 – “The Pit of Sin” – Elder Tim Binion From Job, Chapter 33 Pastor Tim preaching about the temptations of Job by Satan. A wise young man named Elihu – a friend of Job – spoke up to help Job and 3 other friends understand the workings of God in Job’s life. All was well with Job and suddenly his life was turned around. We never know when disaster or death will interrupt our lives, and we must make preparations against that day. We never know when we will find ourselves in a “large pit. Only God can remove us from some pits – such as the “pit of sin.” The end our sins is DEATH – either in Salvation by Jesus Christ … or, in Hell. Jesus is the only means that God has provided for mankind to escape Death, Hell and the Grave. Mankind needs The Saviour to remove us from the horrible “Pit of Sin” and set us upon the “Solid Rock” which is Jesus, Himself. God sends Messengers like Elihu to carry the Word of God to lost men. We are saved by grace … the unmerited favor of God … and NOT by our works or the works of any man. Salvation is a gift, not a reward, not a payment. Jesus is the “ransom” for our souls and we will have a “new beginning” and a “new life” when He saves us and puts our sins “behind His back.” The Christian Life begins with salvation which is eternal. The life of a lost sinner is certain destruction in Hell with all others who have not been born again.
